Link your aadhaar card with your voter id card online and through different methods like mobile SMS and call center - Complete Information Guide
With the increased amount of fraud Voter ID Cards, the government of India has set out a project to link Voter ID card with Aadhaar card. Since Aadhaar card consists of biometric data as well, one person can only have one Aadhaar card and one voter ID linked to it.
The project of linking Aadhaar card to Voter ID card is also called as EPIC Aadhaar Seeding. You can easily seed your EPIC number to your Aadhaar card today, and is not much of a bother. All that you need handy is your EPIC Number and your Aadhaar number, along with a working mobile number.
Following are the ways in which you can easily do EPIC Aadhaar seeding today:
Online Method-NVSP Portal
You can easily do this process online yourself. Simply follow the following steps:- Go to the official website www.nvsp.in which is National Voters’ Services Protocol
- Click on “Feed your Aadhaar Number”
- A new page will appear. Fill in all your details there, viz, your Full Name, Father/Husband’s name, Age or Date of Birth, Gender, State and Constituency.
- After filling in all your details, click on “Search”
- You should get your result below in the same page.
- There will be a button saying “Feed Aadhaar Number” on the left hand side. Click on it.
- A new pop-up appears which will ask your Aadhaar ID details. Fill in the details as per your Aadhaar Card for your name. Fill in other details such as EPIC number, Aadhaar number, mobile number and email ID.
- Then click on “Submit”
Online Method- EPIC-Aadhaar Seeding Portal
There are various other portals for each state that can be used for the linking of Aadhaar card to Voters ID card. For example, the Election Departments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have a portal of their own. One advantage of these state portals is that the process is much easier. All that you require is a mobile phone nearby- Go to the site http://164.100.132.184/epic/SelfSeeding.jsp
- Fill in the EPIC ID and the UID number. Fill in that mobile number which you have handy.
- Click on “Generate OTP” You should get an OTP in your mobile number.
- Fill this OTP in the other page. The procedure is complete.
Seeding via SMS
Yet another easy way of EPIC Aadhaar seeding is by sending an SMS. Write an SMS in this format:ECILINK[space]<EPIC Number>[space]<Aadhaar Number>
Send it to 166 or 51969.
Standard SMS charges may be applicable.
Call Centre Seeding
Don’t want to go through all these hassles? Simply give a call to the toll free call centre number 1950. You will be asked to enter your EPIC number on your Voters ID and then your UID on your Aadhaar card.
